Iowa Manure Management Action Group

The goal of IMMAG is to identify and share manure management information and educational programs, which can be used by producers, technical agencies, educational institutions, researchers, and the general public. Many producer organizations, in particular, are concerned that among all the sponsored manure management activity, information is accumulating among numerous organizations without a systematic plan for collection and dissemination of the information. At the same time, complete and accurate information is becoming a priority need for producers and their technical and legal advisors.

Integrated Crop Management

Crops specialists and field agronomists within the crops team strive to increase the level of awareness, understanding, and adoption of current agronomic and pest management practices that make the best use of soil resources and crop inputs. With the adoption of best management practices (BMPs) by farmers, the objective is to increase efficient use of inputs and agronomic practices to improve yield and profits in field crops. Extension crops specialists and agronomists interact with farmers throughout the year at statewide events, county and regional programming, conferences, and clinics.
