Iowa State Extension and Outreach Community and Economic Development has partnered with the Iowa League of Cities to launch a City Finance 101 program. It will provide elected officials with a better understanding of government finance, resources, responsibilities and some fraud prevention methods. Developed into a single interactive session, participants gain tools to understand the financial information to make better decisions regarding budgets, projects and safeguarding the assets of a community. All participants are encouraged to bring their own financial reports.
Host a session of City Finance 101 with your neighboring communities and set your own location and dates.
Training is a 2-3 hour session and the cost is $750 which includes all materials and instructor travel.
