What do you do for ISU Community and Economic Development Extension and Outreach?

I work with African and African American small businesses and nonprofits in an effort to help individuals start entities and help grow their businesses.

What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job and seeing someone go from ground zero and and reap the rewards of their hard work.

Name one fun thing about yourself that not many people know.

I was born on Halloween.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time, you can catch me watching the Dallas Cowboys play or updating my fantasy football roster.

What is one thing you would like to accomplish in this position?

I would like to take the small business and nonprofit development courses I have facilitated in Des Moines to other metro areas in Iowa.

How do you create a #StrongIowa?

You build a #StrongIowa by helping small businesses thrive in minority communities.

What have you been up to lately (in your job)?

I have been working with One Economy project by facilitating working groups in the areas of small business, health, education, housing and employment. The goal is decrease the disparities African and African Americans face in these categories in Polk County and across the state.
