What do you do for ISU Community and Economic Development Extension and Outreach?

I teach our popular Grant Writing 101 workshop, provide Tourism Customer Service training, organize Marketing Hometown America programs, present leadership development programming, and facilitate strategic planning for governmental units and nonprofits.

What is the best part of your job?

Meeting and working with Iowa residents who are passionate about bettering their communities.

Name one fun thing about yourself that not many people know.

My first post-undergraduate job was as sports editor for a daily newspaper.

What do you do in your spare time?

Cheer on ISU Cyclone sports teams, travel, read, spend time with family and friends.

What is one thing you would like to accomplish in this position?

Build the capacity of Iowa organizations to make positive change in their communities.

How do you create a #StrongIowa?

I always strive for excellence.

What have you been up to lately (in your job)?

I presented a Tourism Customer Service program in northeast Iowa on May 29, and facilitated a strategic planning session for a nonprofit organization and presented Grant Writing 101 workshops in June.
