The Community and Economic Development (CED) unit of ISU Extension and Outreach has recently released the city level annual fiscal conditions report for the 945 cities in Iowa. In addition to including the updated fiscal data for all the cities in Iowa for the year 2015, the report also includes the recently released US Census data on select socioeconomic characteristics at the city level. The IGFI reports are a valuable resource to communities in Iowa, especially those that are small and primarily rural in nature to learn about the economic, demographic and fiscal changes taking place and potentially use them as they plan for their future. The IGFI reports are the only source in the state of Iowa for accessing the most updated socioeconomic and fiscal information that have been customized and presented along with a narrative for every city in the state. The reports can be accessed at /igfi/. IGFI is a government finance outreach initiative from ISU Extension and Outreach that provides resources and works with Iowa communities on a host of issues mostly relating to community and economic development. The IGFI team consists of Biswa Das, Cindy Kendall, Chris Seeger and Bailey Hanson, all within the CED unit. Questions on the report can be sent to Biswa Das at firstname.lastname@example.org or Cindy Kendall at email@example.com.
