
The workshop is usually sponsored by a local organization like the County Extension Office, local Chamber of Commerce, or the County Economic Development Office. The fee for the Grant Writing 101 workshop is $750, which includes all participant workshop materials and instructor travel. The sponsorship fee for the Grant Writing 201 workshop is $1,500. For either program, the sponsor of the workshop can decide whether/how much to charge participants to recoup part or all of the sponsorship fee.

Grant Writing 101
Grant Writing 101 is offered for groups and provides hands-on training in seeking and writing successful grant applications. The 3-hour, beginner-level program is intended for representatives of nonprofit organizations, local governments, and schools.

- Project planning
- Identifying potential funders
- Parts of a grant application
- Tips for success
Grant Writing 201
Grant Writing 201 is offered for experienced grant writers who want to improve their skills, and/or for those individuals who previously participated in a Grant Writing 101 workshop as described above. Participants work on a real grant application, so they are asked to bring application materials for a grant program of interest.

- Documenting need
- Methodology
- Logic models
- Evaluation
- Budgets
