What do you do for ISU Community and Economic Development Extension and Outreach?
I enjoy a shared role with ISU Community and Economic Development Extension and Outreach and the Iowa League of Cities. I am a community data analyst with CED, and the research director with the League. I provide research and assistance on local city issues including: public budgeting, local tax, public pensions, and infrastructure research; grants; emergency management/community resilience; finding/using government data resources; data-driven decision-making in local government; connecting communities and resources; and using data to help tell the local community story.
What is the best part of your job?
In my shared role with ISU Community and Economic Development Extension and Outreach and the Iowa League of Cities, I enjoy the variety of my work. I enjoy connecting and helping make a difference in local government. And, I enjoy working with two outstanding teams of smart, dedicated people!
Name one fun thing about yourself that not many people know.
I’m an avid swimmer. I grew up swimming on the local youth and high school swim teams. After some years off, I returned to swimming over a decade ago, and am a regular competitor at the Iowa Games.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, going to the local farmer’s markets, swimming, biking, reading, and traveling.
