Youth for the Quality Care of Animals, otherwise known as YQCA will replace Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) training starting in 2018-19.  All 4-H and FFA Exhibitors showing livestock (Beef, Sheep, Goats, Swine, Rabbits, and Poultry) must be YQCA or FSQA certified in order to exhibit at the Clinton County Fair Club Show and/or Iowa State Fair.

Until July 1st 2018, Clinton County is still offering the FSQA test-out option for youth in grades 7th -12th if they set a time with 4-H Program Manager, Brianne Johnson at briannej@iastate.edu to take the test.  Youth must recieve an 80% and they have three chances to pass the test.  This test is free of charge.

Youth in grades 4th-12th may take the YQCA online training course to recieve certification.  4-H members must register using their 4hOnline username and password and FFA members must create a new account.  Cost for training is $12 payable online, directly to YQCA at the time of registration.  See instructions below to sign up for online training.

An Instructor-led training option may be offered in April and May for Clinton County youth.  We are not able to schedule a training at this time because training materials and instructor-led certification has not yet been made available by YQCA.  Youth will be notified by email if an instructor-led training becomes available in Clinton County.
