The ISU Extension Clay County office is hosting a professional development class on “Show Me the Grants…and Everything that Comes with “free” Money!”

The ISU Extension Clay County office is hosting a professional development class on “Show Me the Grants…and Everything that Comes with “free” Money!” on Wednesday, January 21st, 2015 (snow date is Wednesday, January 28th) at the ISU Extension Clay County office.

“Show Me the Grants…and Everything that Comes with “free” Money!” will be taught by Sherrifa Jones from Preservation Works, LLC.  This beginning/intermediate level class teaches the participant some of the basics as well as the finer points of grant writing, enabling a proposal or application to be more competitive. This workshop will be a hands-on experience where participants either bring a potential grant application or a grant application will be provided for them (for the purpose of the class), write sections of a proposal, and review peer's writing and budget exercises.  This class will cover a variety of different grants and situations which can be applicable to many individuals/groups.  Bring a laptop if you wish.

This class is open to any individual who wishes to attend.  While this class is a part of the “Nonprofit Management Academy”, a ten-session series, participants are welcome to sign up for single classes.

This is an excellent class for anyone who has a role or interest in community organizations, boards, councils, elected positions, or who has an interest in the topic for professional development purposes. It is also a great professional development opportunity for new staff members in your organization.

This class is from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with an hour break for lunch.  Registration is $45 per person.  To register, or for more information, contact the Clay County Extension Office at 712-262-2264 or email bdalager@iastate.edu.  A printable registration form is availablehere.
