Holiday Gathering for Local Women in Ag

Women in Agriculture are invited to attend a Holiday Gathering hosted by Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach Clay County on Wednesday, Dec. 4 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at their office located at 110 West 4th Street in Spencer.
The program is being hosted as part of the regional Women in Ag group which strives to provide opportunities for education and networking of local Northwest Iowa women in agriculture.
"Our Holiday Gathering is open to any women with an interest in agriculture,” said Amy Forrette, Clay County Ag Program Coordinator with ISU Extension and Outreach, who is hosting the event. “We are excited to spend some time networking, crafting and learning before the holidays and winter hit in full-force.”
Forrette shared that the evening will feature a supper and networking time, an educational presentation and a "DIY" wreath-making session. There is no fee to attend, but due to space, registration is limited to a maximum of 20 women.
“We have limited space and supplies, so I encourage those interested to register ASAP to guarantee their space and wreath-making materials at the gathering,” Forrette said. “Sign-up with a friend and join us for a fun evening.”
The Holiday Gathering will begin with supper at 5:30 p.m. and continue to approximately 7:30 p.m. Preregistration is required to plan adequately for meals, materials and seating. To preregister, contact Amy at 712-262-2264 or visit
Forrette also shared that the ISU Extension and Outreach offices in Clay and Dickinson County have joined forces to host a six-week Annie’s Project women in agriculture program once a week in the evenings during January and February 2020. Annie’s Project will be hosted in Milford to accommodate registrants from both Clay and Dickinson County. She encourages those interested to visit or contact her at 712-262-2264. Registration will be opening soon.
