Community Compassion Service Opportunities

Youth and Judge at Achievement Fair

Please join Clay County 4-H in “compassion” and participate in one or both of these great “Community Compassion” service opportunities. For more information contact
Part I: Clay County 4-Hers are urged to donate one human sciences exhibit. All donated exhibits will be sold during the Clay County Fair at a price set by the youth donator. One exhibit allowed per 4-Her.
The decision to donate can be made at any time during the year, but no later than during the exhibit set-up time before the Clay County Fair begins. Each 4-Her will choose one charitable organization to sponsor. Proceeds are split 3 ways: 50% donated to the club’s chosen charity and 50% split between the 4-H Club and the Clay County 4-H Endowment Fund.
Exhibit premiums and ribbons will be awarded and a special Community Compassion ribbon will also be awarded.
Part II: Clay County 4-Hers will have an opportunity to raise money during the Clay County Fair to support a community service project of their choice. Any club can participate for the length of ½ hour (or more if desired) on either Sunday of the Fair and will share a banner that will be on display in the Exhibit Building during the entire length of the Fair. For a suggested donation of $1, fairgoers can sign the banner in support of the various community service projects that will be supported. The total proceeds will be divided equally between all participating clubs.
The Clay County Extension Office is now accepting registrations for the 2020 Community Compassion project. Clubs, members or groups of members from several clubs can enter an idea of a community service project for the opportunity to be a part of the 2020 Community Compassion project.
To enter the competition by August 31st, please describe your project idea in a write up. Please include your name(s), club name(s), phone, and email.
