Summer Day Camps Registration is Open!

Chickasaw County Extension and Outreach and Chickasaw County 4-H is offering several summer days camps for all K - 3rd graders starting in June and going through July.  We are also offering one for 4-6th graders and one for 7-12th graders.  These camps are open to everyone! 
Come join us for a summer filled with FUN!

Bugs! A Creepy Crawly Adventure

Come and explore the wonders of bugs! This camp involves fun, hands-on activities that teach basic science principles. We will take a closer look at the insects and spiders all around us and even make an insect habitat! 
Tuesday, June 20th from  9:00 am to 3:00 pm in Nashua at the Big 4 Fairgrounds. Cost is $15.00

Magician’s Laboratory
Learn the secret behind the famous tablecloth trick and discovering many fantastic magic tricks and famous magicians. We will explore gravity, reactions, optical illusions and learn about the science behind the magic.                                                                                 
Tuesday, June 13th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in New Hampton at Mikkelson Park.  Cost is $15.00

Slimy, Gooey, Gross
This day camp will involve fun hands-on activities that teach basic science principles. We will explore slimy, gooey, gross science while we will conduct all kinds of icky, sticky experiments! Get ready to play in some slimy, yucky science fun!
Tuesday, June 27th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in New Hampton at Mikkleson Park.   Cost is $15.00
This camp was listed on the registration form incorrectly!  The camp is in New Hampton and not Nashua! Sorry for the confusion.

Fun at the Fair!
Enjoy a fun day at the Chickasaw County Fair!  Learn more about being a 4-H member, history of the fair, games, and even a tour of the fairgrounds!
Thursday, July 13th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Big 4 Fairgrounds in Nashua.  Cost is $10.00

Unfortunate Camp!
This camp will explore the science behind inventions, we will study reptiles and get creative with interesting projects.  Campers will learn through exploration and experiments.   The camp is based on the book series “A Series of Unfortunate Events” by Daniel Handler. 
Thursday, June 29th from 9 am to 3 pm at the Big 4 Fairgrounds in Nashua.  Cost is $15.00

Experimenting with Drones!
Youth will examine the rules and regulations for operating drones in Iowa.   Identify the ways drones can be used in a career or hobby.  Learn the proper ways to handle and maintain a drone.  Of course we will be flying drones as well. 
Thursday, June 22nd from 9am to 3pm at Garnant Park in New Hampton.  Cost is $15.00
