Judging:
- Awardrobe Clothing Event
Communication Events - Step outside your comfort zone, show off a talent, give a presentation, or teach others how to do or make something.
Judging:
- Educational Presentations
-
Educational Presentations give 4-Hers the opportunity to demonstrate their communication skills by presenting knowledge, information, or a process to gain a desired response from an audience. This is the format of a classroom presentation.
- Extemporaneous Speaking
-
Extemporaneous Speaking is for senior 4-H members who have completed 9-12 grade.
4-H member draws three current events 4-H related topics. The member selects one and has 30 minutes to prepare a 4-6 minute speech on one side of the topic. No previously written outlines or speeches may be used.
4-Hers must think on their feet for this event. Extemporaneous speaking is designed to encourage the development of the life skill of communicating with others by enhancing their ability to think, organize, speak, and answer questions readily before an audience.
- Working Exhibits
-
Working Exhibits provide an opportunity for members to communicate and interact with an audience in an informal way. 4-Hers will be interactive for the audience to learn how to do something in a hands-on experimental way. A working exhibit should be a "teaching" or "showing" presentation.
- Share The Fun
-
Do you have a talent you would like to show others? Share The Fun provides an opportunity for 4-Hers to share their skills and talents before an audience purely for the sake of enjoyment. This could include: playing an instrument, singing a song, performing a skit, or any other talent an individual or group would like to share.
