Iowans still are managing the uncertainly and anxiety produced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Drought related conditions have added another layer of stress for agriculture producers in many areas of the state. And now, many individuals and communities are facing the aftermath of an unusually powerful derecho – a widespread, straight-line windstorm – that surged through Iowa. Iowans may begin to wonder how much more stress they can take.

Across Iowa, people are doing their best to adapt to significant changes to their lives and to a new normal. However, dealing with the ongoing uncertainty as the pandemic continues may lead to excessive worry and feelings of anxiety. For some, this may be a new experience. Others may become overwhelmed by the additional stress and uncertainty.

Two free one-hour webinars are available to the public on Friday, June 12, and Tuesday, June 16. Speakers will include Kristine Tidgren, director of the Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation, and Steve Johnson, farm management specialist, both with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
