Join 4-H

4-H Youth Development empowers children (1-3) and youth (4-12) to reach their full potential by working and learning in partnership with caring adults.  4-H positive youth development programming provides opportunities for young people to become competent, caring, contributing, confident and connected citizens with character.  Youth camps, trips and scholarships are also available.
Our typical enrollment period is from September 1 through May 1.  Look below to find out how you can get enrolled so you may fully participate!
4-H is a program offered for youth in the 4th through the 12th grades.  There is a separate Clover Kids program for children in 1st through 3rd grades.

1.  Pick A Club

There are 13 4-H clubs in Boone county.  You may choose a club based on location, age or special interest.  If club leader information is not available from the club map, please contact the County Youth Coordinator.  We are happy to assist you in contacting a club leader.  It is important that you make contact with the club leaders, as they can give you specific information about the club such as, meeting times and special club rules.

2.  Enrollment

4-H enrollment is online.  Instructions to enroll.  There is also an annual program fee.  The Program Development Fee will be $25/member this year.  Typically the Program Development Fee is $40.  The reduced PDF is due to a generous Landus Cooperative Grant and Boone County 4-H waiving the $5 county fee.  This reduced fee is only for this year due to COVID-19, drought and derecho. This fee helps to support the county & state 4-H program. If you feel that this fee would constitute an undue financial burden, financial assistance is available by filling out the Financial Assistance Form. All forms need to be turned into the Boone County ISU Extension Office located at 1327 SE Marshall Street in Boone.
