Crop Marketing, Crop Insurance and the New Farm Bill Logo

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is conducting a public meeting in Ogden on crop marketing strategies and the new farm program meeting.
 
“This meeting is designed to help landowners, tenants and other agri-business professionals with current issues related to marketing crops and pending enrollment decisions related to the new farm program,” said Steve Johnson, farm and agriculture business management specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach.
 
Topics include:
• Crop supply/demand and price outlook
• Futures carry, basis and cost of grain ownership
• Establishing time and price objectives for marketing old crop bushels
• Using crop revenue protection and pre-harvest marketing new crop bushels
• New Farm Bill overview and pending decisions for 2019 and beyond.
 
The meeting is Thursday evening, Feb. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Leonard Good Community Center, 114 SW 8th Street in Ogden. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
 
The meeting will last approximately two hours and will be facilitated by Johnson and Ray Jenkins, former grain merchandiser and crop market educator with ISU Extension and Outreach. No registration fee is required, and the meeting is open to the public.
