The Nonprofit Management Alliance, a partnership of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach – Woodbury County, the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Siouxland, will be holding a workshop on wage and labor laws and adherence to the Fair Labor Standards Act on Feb. 4 in Sioux City.
A Wind and Solar Energy Conference will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the Sioux City Convention Center, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The conference will address the growing interest in alternative energy sources that has raised many questions about wind and solar energy in northwest Iowa.
Four individuals, a radio station and a TV station were honored as 2011 Friends of Extension by the Iowa Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Phi, a national honorary extension fraternity. The awards were presented Nov. 3 during the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach annual conference in Ames.
To provide an opportunity for Iowa business leaders, homeowners, livestock producers and environmentalists to consult on wind and solar energy, Iowa State University Extension in Plymouth County, along with other partner organizations, is presenting a Wind/Solar Energy Conference.
