May is Mental Health Awareness Month and is a good reminder that Iowans still need to stay focused on mental health and resilience as the pandemic continues, says David Brown, behavioral health specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.

If a friend, neighbor or community member were experiencing mental health issues, would you be able to intervene so they could get help? If you needed help, would you know where to turn? ISU Extension and Outreach is offering statewide programs to help individuals practice noticing and helping during a mental health challenge.

March 23, 2021

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will provide virtual Youth Mental Health First Aid trainings throughout spring 2021 and beyond. The virtual program helps adults learn how to identify when a youth (ages 6-18) in their life might be struggling with a mental health and/or substance use problem.
