Join Iowa Beef Center on Three-Day Cow Caravan Bus Tour in Late August

A three-day late summer bus tour -- the Cow Caravan -- features some of Iowa’s successful grazing and confinement cow operations. The Aug. 29-31 tour is a component of the Iowa Beef Center’s Cow Systems Project, created to evaluate management practices among operations ranging from extensive grazing systems to year-round confinement.

McNay Memorial Research and Demonstration Farm Field Day to Focus on Grazing, Cover Crops, Cattle Research

The 2017 field day of the Iowa State University McNay Memorial Research Farm will provide updates on grazing and cover crops, including a pasture tour spotlighting weed control techniques and planning for stockpiled grazing. The Aug. 2 event also will provide the latest in selected beef cattle research projects and specific results on the farm cattle.

Maya Hayslett Named Crop Sciences Youth Educator for Iowa State University

Maya Hayslett has been hired as the new crop sciences youth educator and will be working closely with the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach 4-H Youth Development and Agriculture and Natural Resources programs to provide leadership and direction for the Iowa 4-H Youth Development Crop Science-STEM priority topic area.

Soil Health Field Day July 12 near Donahue
