Iowa State University students are given the opportunity to experience ISU Extension and Outreach through the Heddleson Internship Program. Three students were selected this year to be Heddleson interns, including sophomore in event management and apparel merchandising, Raeann Hanlon.

The science of auto racing and a fast time behind the wheel await some Iowa 4-H youth July 30. Approximately 30 youth will learn about science, technology, engineering and math in NASCAR and challenge NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace to a go cart race.

The “Mid Life and Beyond” program has been working with Iowa communities for the past four years to help provide aging Iowans and their communities with the best resources and information. This program is different from a specific curriculum because it is primarily an interactive discussion among people about their community.

Cathann Kress, Iowa State University vice president for extension and outreach, has received The 2015 Spirit of Crazy Horse Award from Reclaiming Youth International and the Starr Global Learning Network.
