Allamakee County Record Book Information

All 4-H members are encouraged to complete a record book.  To apply for record keeping system awards and/or project awards.  The deadline to apply is October 1.  There are three basic county award application areas for 4-H’ers to compete in - Record Keeping, Project Awards & Club Officer Award. Due to restrictions in place due to COVID-19, the Iowa State Extension and Outreach—Allamakee County 4-H Program has created an alternative fair experience for youth exhibitors.

In the spirit of tradition, the Iowa State Fairgrounds are excited to host the 2020 Fair Special Edition: Iowa 4-H and FFA Livestock Show.

This is such a year for the record books. Years from now, we will talk about 2020 and hopefully be reminded of things we learned and how we coped. As our state is consumed with decisions on fairs and tempers are high, it’s important to discuss why Iowa youth participate in 4-H and emphasize the educational benefits of what a 4-H livestock project provides.
