Title: CANCELLED: Joia Food Farm Hosts NIFF Network
Date/Time: 9/9/2018  5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Description: CANCELLED: Farm tour and potluck at Jóia Food Farm Our hosts are under the weather and don't want to spread it to guest! If you were planning to attend, please know that this event has been cancelled! Jóia Food Farm is a diverse livestock and organic grain farm located near Charles City in Northeast Iowa owned and operated by farmers Wendy Johnson and Johnny Rafkin and daughter Vivienne. Wendy and Johnny left the bright lights/big city of Los Angeles in 2010 and returned to Wendy’s family farm out of a desire to connect with their food and to live a life filled with intention and genuine purpose. They grow certified organic grains, and they also raise heritage pigs, sheep, turkeys, ducks and chickens on lush pastures using regenerative methods. Their animals are certified Animal Welfare Approved. The Northeast Iowa Food and Farm Network is where local food farmers and friends gather to make connections, find common interests, collaborate, and learn together! Are you an aspiring, beginning, transitioning or experienced local food or niche producer who wants to connect? All are welcome! Bring a dish to pass, a place setting, and a lawn chair or picnic blanket. Please RSVP to Kayla Koether- koether@iastate.edu or 563-568-6345.
