National Youth Science Day (NYSD) provides access and opportunity for kids to learn about STEM topics (science, technology, engineering and math) by participating in a hands-on STEM challenge. 4‑H will hold NYSD events throughout the month of October in classrooms, clubs, homes and after-school spaces across the country.
The National 4-H Healthy Living Ambassador program is a team of youth from across Iowa working together to offer healthy living programs to help youth and families in their communities.
National, state, regional and county-hosted events open to 4-H affiliated adults, volunteers, club members and/or non-members from more than one county.
National 4-H Congress is held each November in Atlanta, Georgia. For over one hundred years, National 4-H Congress has been a premiere nation-wide opportunity for 4-H members. National 4-H Congress is a five-day event that engages high school 4-H members in leadership, civic engagement, global awareness and inclusion. Youth who attend this event should have the opportunity to address public issues of concern to youth, and be encouraged to commit to an active role in their community.
The National Youth Summit Series, held at the National 4-H Conference Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland, brings together some of the best and brightest youth to focus on immersive STEM, agri-science, healthy living, and photography learning opportunities. Designed for high school students (grades 9 – 12), the Summits provide opportunities to learn technical skills, participate in hands-on activities, workshops, and engage with nationally-recognized leaders as well as their peers from across the country. Annually, Iowa sends youth delegations to the Agri-Science, Healthy Living, Photography Summits.
