FLEx Forward Learning Experience

FLEx is a mobile learning program for advanced design technology benefitting 3rd through 12th students and beyond in a 21st century paradigm. Structured around STEM, design thinking, 21st Century skills, and University Constructs (4 C’s), this environment extends distant educational offerings by delivering full-scale augmented and virtual visualization, digital to real prototyping, circuit bending and visual programming.

Native Bee Challenge

The Native Bee Challenge is a part of the 4-H Ag Innovators Experience, an annual program that challenges young people to apply critical thinking and STEM skills to a real-world agriculture challenge. Developed by National 4-H Council and Bayer, the program helps develop critical workforce skills in young people, and demonstrates how agriculture can be fun! This year's activity is the Native Bee Challenge, created by Iowa State University. STEM-Lit to Go!

STEM-Lit to Go! is an innovative program that supports the development of STEM and literacy skills for K-3 youth. This program utilizes a unique instructional framework that integrates inquiry-based STEM activities and carefully selected children’s literature.

Iowa 4-H and NASA Iowa Space Grant Consortium STEAM Academy

Join the new STEAM Academy as we work through a series of online challenges!  Each week we hope to highlight a NASA resource for youth in grades 4-12 that can be done at home.  Watch this page as we continue to add STEAM activities -- and may even have some special guests!  This is a great chance to learn more about science, technology, engineering, arts, math (STEAM) and NASA!  

Iowa 4-H Clover Kids

Clover Kids is a FUN 4-H program for children in kindergarten through third grade. Children participate in hands-on activities designed to build lots of different life skills!

Iowa State University of Science and Technology produces a host of educational outreach opportunities. Some take place on campus, other in locations across the state, still others are available wherever you are, just contact the program to sign up.

Robotics Clubs

The Iowa 4-H Robotics program offers youth the opportunity to learn about robotics, coding and STEM professions through engaging, hands-on experiences.  Our monthly challenges inspire youth in grades 4-12 to experiment and grow in their coding, design and critical thinking skills.  All challenges are aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards and Iowa Computer Science Standards.  

NASA Astro Camp®

The goal of Astro Camp® is to give ALL youth the chance to get involved in and experience Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) -- and to inspire future astronauts and engineers to learn about space with NASA unique activities. 

State Science and Technology Fair of Iowa

The State Science + Technology Fair of Iowa is OPEN to ANY student (grades 6-12) residing in or attending school (public, private, parochial and home school) in the state of Iowa. At this time there is NO qualifier fair (local, conference, district or regional) required for participation!
