Global Clovers

We have began editions of the “Global Clover” for 4-H clubs across the state! Our intent is to feature a different country around the world each month, each of these countries has a 4-H program or similar. In order for youth to understand what Global Citizenship is for them and how they can both impact the world and be impacted by the world around them, we want to highlight different countries, languages, economics, activities, traditions outside Iowa and the U.S. We also have a service project or activity of sorts with each month’s Global Clover. The service activity will relate to the featured country.

4-H reaches over 7 million young people in more than 50 countries. The Global Clover has highlighted 4-H in 20 countries, and counting!

Project Passport

project passportGlobal Citizenship involves people of all ages understanding the world around us and our place in it. It requires working to develop and share understanding with others so that they can be responsible and knowledgeable global citizens. Appreciation for all cultures, including one’s own as well as a desire to learn and explore issues affecting societies, agriculture, environment, and resources around the globe, are key components that make up Global Citizenship. Check out this informational flyer!

Project Passport aims to develop the skills of Global Citizenship among youth in 4-H. This program provides a framework for the exploration of diverse cultures, countries and identities. Participants will utilize the 4-H Experiential Learning Model (ELM) of Do, Reflect, and Apply.

Open to youth in grades 4-12th. Project Passport can be adapted to meet the needs of a variety of youth audiences, settings, and experience levels of the youth.
