Recap of Global Citizenship Day 2019
Come experience cultures found throughout the world at the 4-H Global Citizenship Day at the Iowa State Fair! Every year at the Iowa State Fair in the 4-H Exhibits Building, we host a Global Citizenship Day. This is a great opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn and engage in different cultures from all over the world.
The 4th annual Global Citizenship Day was held on August 15th, 2019. This year we invited many organizations to learn more about different cultures. We also had live performances presented by Ames High School 4-H Club-Step, Eagle Claw Kung Fu and Tai Chi, Micronesian Dancers, Spoken Words, Dances from India, and Konkultura. It was a fresh, exciting, and unique experience for everyone who visited.
In addition to the many presentations and stage performances, we had some fun activities to do. Henna tattoos, Micronesian Artifacts, Global Hands, and Traveling Keychains were just a few of the activities anyone could participate in throughout the day. All the visitors who come to Global Citizenship Day can leave knowing they connected with each other, had fun, and learn something new!
