 When temperatures are cold outside, it’s the perfect time to plan spring plantings. Include butterfly weed, a pretty, low maintenance perennial, in those plans to add significant beauty and value to a lawn. For maximum growth and beauty, specific growing procedures should be followed.

The newly revised Right-of-Way, Category 6 manual is available for Iowa’s commercial and public pesticide applicators. The 98-page manual covers the noxious weeds and other weed species common in Iowa’s right-of-way environments and the various strategies used in managing these weeds.

Emerald Ash Borer has been positively identified in Appanoose, Lucas, Mahaska, Marion and Monroe counties in southern Iowa. EAB kills all ash tree species and is considered to be one of the most destructive tree pests ever seen in North America.
