Garden Field Day at the North Iowa Research Farm is September 10th at 6:00 p.m.

Cynthia Haynes, an associate professor in the Iowa State horticulture department, will be hosting the tour through the vegetable gardens at the North Iowa Research Farm. This tour is open to the public and qualifies for Master Gardener continuing education credit. Event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is not required.

Cover crops, Sudden Death Syndrome of soybean, and fall fertilizer decisions will highlight the fall field day of the Iowa State University Northern Research and Demonstration Farm.  The field day will take place September 3rd at the south location of the Research Farm (1040 James Ave., Kanawha - which is about a mile south of Kanawha on county road R35).

 A June-bearing strawberry planting can be productive for several years if the bed is given the right care. One important task is to renovate June-bearing strawberries correctly to ensure good productivity. These tips from horticulturists with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach help keep June-bearing strawberry plantings productive for many years.
