The 2006 Worth County Fair was another successful event by every standard. The barns were full, the exhibit building looked like a jungle, and kids and parents had a great time!
The fair is a time and place to show case all that the 4-H'ers learn and do throughout the year. Fair goers were pleased to see that the livestock shows were full for another year. Kids learn and grow with their livestock projects. Sunday afternoon before the sheep show is an excellent opportunity to see just what kids learn. Dennis Johnson, Worth County Extension Education Director, does barn interviews with many kids in every livestock area - from poultry to beef, horses to swine.
The Exhibit building seemed to be fuller than in years past, too. The youth of Worth County really did a fine job creating projects this year. The creativity that goes into the projects is just astounding. We also had 14 Working Exhibits with more participants than ever! People that came looking for some great activities were not disappointed! Four working exhibits done at the county level will advance to the Iowa State Fair in August.
