Woodbury County Extension will offer the Ornamental and Turfgrass Applicators Continuing Instructional Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators Wednesday, Nov. 4. The video program can be seen at locations across Iowa through the Iowa State University Extension Pest Management and the Environment (PME) program.
The local site for the November 4 CIC is at the Woodbury County Extension office at 4301 Sergeant Road #209, Sioux City, Iowa. Registration begins at 1 p.m., and the course runs from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
The registration fee is $35 before October 28 and $45 after October 28. To register or to obtain additional information about the CIC, contact Kathy Goodwin at Woodbury County Extension by phoning (712) 276-2157.
The 2009 course will provide continuing instructional credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 2, 3O, 3T, 3OT and 10. Topics to be covered include pesticide labels; pesticide stewardship; equipment calibration and safe application techniques and drift; white grubs in turfgrasses; cultural care of turfgrass stands; and a plant disease update.
