Archery was offered to youth in Woodbury and Plymouth counties through the 4-H Shooting Sports program this fall. Over 20 youth attended the first six weeks of archery meetings. Youth were taught how to safely use a bow while getting hands on experience and practice in an archery range.
From beginners who had never held a bow to experienced shooters, everyone learned something new and had a great time.
Archery will be offered again starting in February. Meetings are one evening a week for six weeks. You are welcome to bring your own equipment but it will be provided for those who don’t have their own. Youth must be in 4th-12th grade to participate.
There will be a meeting for all youth already involved or interested in joining 4-H Shooting Sports on January 10th at the Woodbury County Extension office in Sioux City. There will be a guest speaker from Ducks Unlimited as well as information on upcoming schedules for archery and shotgun meetings. If you have any questions please contact Molly Moser at (712) 276-2157 or mrmoser@iastate.edu.
