ISU Celebrates

Attention Iowa State University (ISU) alumni and students! Iowa State University Extension in Woodbury and Monona Counties are looking for Iowa State alumni and current students to celebrate Iowa State University’s 150th birthday by being apart of a parade entry in the Rivercade Parade in Sioux City on Wednesday, July 18.

The float will consist of a beautiful depiction of the Campanile, an historic building on the ISU campus. The ISU mascot, Cy the Cyclone, will energize parade goers as part of the float entry.  ISU students or alumni are invited to walk or ride in the parade along with Cy, 4-H youth, Master Gardeners, volunteers and staff.

ISU Extension-Woodbury County will also be a part of a playground build day at Chris Larsen Park in Sioux City on Saturday, September 15, 2007, in honor of the University’s sesquicentennial. This will be in partnership with the Sioux City Parks and Recreation Department. ISU students, alumni, 4-H youth, Master Gardeners, volunteers, and staff are all invited to be a part of a meaningful and fun day. No prior experience needed.

If you are an ISU student or alumni and would like to join Cy and his friends in the Rivercade Parade or if you would like to be a part of the playground build, please contact Sherry McGill at (712) 276-2157 or mcgills@iastate.edu.
