Field & Feedlot and the Scene are GOING GREEN! In an effort to be environmentally friendly and to allow more funding to be used toward programming, we are encouraging you to opt-in for email versions of Field & Feedlot and the 4-H Scene.

The Woodbury County 4-H Foundation has established a mini-grant program which is designed to encourage 4-H members and clubs to carry out projects which will benefit the community, and an educational incentive to be awarded to high school seniors who have been in 4-H more than four years. Application deadline for both is April 15, 2016 - apply today!

Through a partnership between Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach, University of Nebraska Extension, Up From the Earth, and Dakota County Voices for Food, Soil to Supper: Garden for Food will teach you how to grow your own vegetables, improve your soil, begin composting, implement food safety practices, manage pests and disease, as well as how you can grow an extra row to share with food pantries in Siouxland. This free all-day workshop will take place Saturday, February 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the ISU Extension and Outreach – Woodbury County offices, located at 4728 Southern Hills Drive in Sioux City.

Available now is the ISU Extension and Outreach Cash Rent Survey for 2015. This survey shows typical cash rental rates for corn and soybean acres, as well as for land devoted to hay, oats, and pasture.
