Iowa State University Extension - Woodbury County is excited to announce that a new building is in the works!  The building will help Woodbury County Extension better meet the needs of the residents of Woodbury County and the region.

Get on board for the last “Farm to Fork” culinary tour of the season hosted by Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach, Flavors of Northwest Iowa. Tour places near Sheldon, Sanborn and Inwood on Sept. 4.

Woodbury County 4-H’er Emily Dawn Widman, Sergeant Bluff, received a state 4-H citizenship project award. Widman, 18, is the daughter of David and Elizabeth Widman.

The Iowa Master Gardener program and Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach are once again offering a free series of summer garden webinars. Trees are one of the most valuable components of home landscapes. Because weather patterns over the past couple of years have taken a toll on landscape trees, and because the Emerald Ash Borer is advancing across the state, the theme for the 2014 summer webinars is Totally Trees.

Ash trees around Siouxland are dropping their leaves. The leaf drop is likely due to anthracnose.  Anthracnose is a common fungal disease of trees in Iowa. Woodbury County Extension office has received numerous calls this week from all over Siouxland about the problem.
