The Center for Sustainable Communities at Luther College is hosting a teacher workshop called “Growing STEM in the Garden” this summer.  In this class, teachers will learn how to comprehensively use a school garden to teach across curricular areas and provide a framework for STEM education.

Join us for a two day workshop on how to build and program LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Robots. Learn to use sensors to build and program your robot to meet a series of challenges. We will help you with step-by step guides and resources while you explore robotics. It’s real learning with real adventure!

4-H members showing Beef, Dairy, Goats, Poultry, Rabbits, Sheep, and Swine at the County Fair or State Fair will need to be The Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) certified.

You don't even have to be in 4-H to attend this conference! You will get to experience campus life, and meet new people from across the state! You will be having fun while learning by doing, dancing the nights away, and serving the community. You will get to learn new things to take back to your community and school, and in the process you might even discover something new about yourself!

Statewide Resources

  • Provides opportunities for youth to develop skills they can use now and throughout their life, empowering them to reach their full potential working and learning in partnership with caring adults.

  • Statewide updates posted each Thursday afternoon by the State 4-H Office. Check it out every week to keep up-to-date on events, grants, forms, fair info, and fun!

  • Join a 4-H club where you can learn about your interests while having fun, improving your communication skills, and serving your community. These are resources to make your club experience even better.

  • Your adventure in 4-H starts here. Choose from nearly 50 project areas and discover your skills, talents and interests.

  • Discover the world of animal science from breeding, nutrition and general care to food safety and management. Find statewide forms, trainings and activity sheets here.

  • Every June, 1000 teenagers converge on the Iowa State University campus for 3 days of speakers, workshops, mixers, dances, a banquet, and community service activities. If you've completed 8th-12th grade, you're eligible to attend. Non-4-H members are welcome.

  • Youth and teens can discover opportunities to be recognized for personal growth, project learning, leadership and citizenship. 

  • Clover Kids is a FUN 4-H program for children in kindergarten through third grade. Children participate in hands-on activities designed to build many life skills!

  • Takes service to the next level. It builds civic skills, improves social behavior, increases youth engagement, strengthens communities and improves academic achievement.

  • Addresses youths’ basic needs through the eight essential elements: caring adults, safe environments, inclusive settings, and opportunities for mastery, service, self-determination, planning for the future and engaged learning.

  • Provides financial resources to develop and deliver quality 4-H youth programs and opportunities throughout the state of Iowa.

  • An ideal year-round getaway for families, corporate retreats, team-building experiences, 4-H clubs and more, situated on 1,100 acres of wooded bluff and native prairie in the heart of Iowa's Des Moines River Valley near Madrid.

  • Challenge your mind by exploring the world around you with hands-on science experiments and solve problems using engineering design principles and the latest technology.

  • Iowa 4-H Volunteers are motivated by positive purposes in helping youth become caring, competent, and contributing members of their family and communities. Discover the resources you need to be most effective.

  • Provides opportunities for youth to demonstrate, learn and apply project and communication skills. Every year the 4-H Exhibits Building features well over 3,000 exhibits and Livestock shows engage more than ## youth.
