2009 4-H Program Sponsors

Without these amazing donors the 4-H program would not be able to reach out to as many kids as it does. The donation will help young people attend 4-H camp, local day camps, Chicago Award Trip, leadership conference or project workshops. It will provide training and recognition for 4-H volunteers, or it can fund exciting new programs that teach youth valuable life skills.

A 4-H Shooting Sports Club has begun in Winnebago County. All interested youth in grade 4-12 are invited to join. During the school year meeting will be held on the 3rd Saturday of the months (weather permitting) at Winnebago County Fairgrounds in Thompson at the 4-H foodstand.

Operation: Military KidsAnother 3,500 Iowa National Guard Soldiers will be deployed for duty in Afghanistan in fall 2010. Iowa children who will have family members deploying can get help from Operation: Military Kids.
Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Deadline Is Nov. 2

Iowa 4-H Foundation Announces Winner of 2009 Toyota “Clover” Corolla

Craig Griffieon of Ankeny has won the 2009 Toyota “Clover” Corolla in the second annual Iowa 4-H Vehicle Raffle. The drawing was held Oct 9 over the noon hour on WHO Radio’s The Big Show to culminate National 4-H Week.
Iowa 4-H Announces State Horse Judging Contest Winners

The Madison County 4-H Horse Judging team placed first among five senior teams at the 2009 Iowa 4-H State Horse Judging Contest Oct. 3. Other placings went to teams from Clinton, Buena Vista, Howard and Madison counties.
4-H’er Is Healthy Iowa Emerging Leader

Devin De Weerd, an Iowa State University student and Sioux County 4-H’er, received the Healthy Iowa Emerging Leader Award from the Wellness Council of Iowa in partnership with the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Nutrition, and the Academy for a Healthy Iowa.
