Winnebago County Extension , in partnership with Iowa State University, provides education and information to help the people of Winnebago County become the best they can be. ATTENTION MANURE APPLICATORS: We offer to reshow the Manure Programs on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month for those that were unable to attend a workshop.  Commercial Manure (3 hours in length) will be shown at 9:00 a.m. and Confinement Manure (2 hours in length) will be shown at 1:30 p.m.  If special arrangments must be made a $10.00 fee will be charged per participant.  You must call and register at least a day ahead of time.  If we have no one register, neither program will be shown.  Please contact the Winnbago County Extension office at 641-584-2261 or e-mail xwinnebago@iastate.edu

Seeking 4-H food stand manager for Winnebago County Fair July 18-21.  Will be responsible for planning the menu, preparing all food during and prior to fair, and managing the food stand during open hours at the fair. The food stand manager will also be expected to work with 4-H members, volunteers, and donors in running of the food stand.

Average Iowa farmland value is estimated to be $8,296 per acre, an increase of 23.7 percent from 2011, according to results of the Iowa Land Value Survey conducted in November. This is the third year in a row where values have increased more than 15 percent. The 2012 values are historical peaks.
