SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS 

1. Place clearly marked sample container in a plastic Ziploc bag (1 sample per bag). 

2. Complete separate order form for each sample and place in a Ziploc bag. 

3. Double check to be sure your code on sample and order form matches. 

4. Pad well with styrofoam, packing peanuts, crumbled paper, or similar. Inexpensive insulated shipping containers can be purchased at stores like Staples and Office Depot. Double boxing is an excellent idea! Shipping and sampling containers can be requested from the Midwest Grape & Wine Industry Institute. 

5. Include ice packs (double bagged) if your sample needs to stay cold, and be sure to mark the outside of the shipping container accordingly (i.e. "refrigerate upon arrival")

6. For the shipping declaration, use the phrase: “Research sample containing grape juice and ethanol” for wine samples, or “Research sample containing grape juice” for non-fermented juice samples. 

7. Ship overnight via Fed Ex or UPS to:

Be mindful of your ship day to ensure that the perishable samples are received by the lab on a regular Monday-Friday work day.
