West Pottawattamie County will host Mosquito/Public Health Pest Management Continuing Instructional Course for commercial pesticide applicators on Thursday, October 23, 2014. The program can be seen at locations across Iowa through the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Pest Management and the Environment Program.

West Pottawattamie County will host a Pest Control Operators Continuing Instructional Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators Wednesday, December 3, 2014.

West Pottawattamie County will host a Fumigation Continuing Instructional Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators on Tuesday, November 18, 2014.

West Pottawattamie County will offer the Commercial Ag Weed, Insect and Plant Disease Management Continuing Instructional Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators Wednesday, November 12, 2014. The program will be shown at locations across Iowa through the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Pest Management and the Environment (PME) program.

Corn grain drydown in the field may be a big issue this fall. There are many factors that will affect rates of corn drydown. Some of those factors are obvious – like hybrid maturity, and the amount and duration of sun and wind activity. Also the amount of rainy days will affect the rate and amount of grain drydown – since little or no grain drying occurs during rainy conditions.
