West Pottawattamie County will host a Pest Control Operators Continuing Instructional Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators Wednesday, December 2, 2015. The program is offered at office locations across Iowa through the ISU Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP).

Fall is the season for health insurance plan enrollment. Health insurance helps individuals and families get access to care leading to better health and reduces the risk of high health care costs.
Smart Choice Health Insurance Basics will be held on Tuesday, December 15 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the ISU Extension and Outreach office of West Pottawattamie County, 1705 McPherson Ave., in Council Bluffs. The workshop is free; registration is requested. Call 712-366-7070.

Talking about estate planning is difficult and implementing an estate plan can be even harder. Questions often include: Who needs to be involved? What information do I need to gather? When is it the right time to start? Where do I start? How do I decide what to do? The Evaluating Your Estate Plan program can help in the planning process. The Evaluating Your Estate Plan workshop will be held Wednesday, December 2nd at the Logan Community Center, 108 W. 4th Street Logan, IA 51546 with registration starting at 9:00. The program runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

West Pottawattamie Extension and Outreach will have classes for certification on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 for persons  who applies any restricted-use pesticide for the production of an agricultural commodity on property owned or rented by the applicator or the applicator’s employer, or on the property of other agricultural producers with whom the applicator trades services.
