Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who share a love of gardening, an enthusiasm for learning, and a commitment to helping others. Perhaps you've met a Master Gardener working at a community garden, teaching a workshop, or answering questions at your county Extension Office. You too can become a Master Gardener if you are interested in learning about plants and gardening, attend the training program, provide 40 hours of service, and are willing to help others.

What is Powerful Tools for Caregivers?
Caregiving is rewarding, but, let’s face it— caregiving also can be stressful—physically, emotionally, and financially. Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a class designed to provide you, the family caregiver, with the skills you need to take care of yourself. Six two-and-a-half hour class sessions held once a week are led by certified, experienced class leaders. Powerful Tools for Caregivers allows you time to acquire some tools to help you become more comfortable with your role as a caregiver.

Iowa residents living in rural areas outside of incorporated cities rely on their local township government to provide a broad range of services, from vital functions such as fire protection to maintenance of public cemeteries and the resolution of fence disputes. Some townships may choose to provide other support such as emergency medical service, township halls, parks, libraries, community centers, and playgrounds. Pottawattamie County offers two trainings on Wednesday, August 27, 2014.

Join us for this conversation on offering children a healthier environmentally-friendly program where you will be inspired to get involved in the green movement. This is an ONLINE training series approved for 4.5 hours of DHS group credit classes are September 3, 10 and 17, 2014.   $45.00 for the series of three lessons, deadline to register is August 29, 2014.
