Growing quality transplants is the topic of a day-long Iowa State University Extension and Outreach workshop Thursday, Feb. 18 at the Webster County Extension Office 217 South 25th St., Suite C12, Fort Dodge, IA 50501-4676. The workshop will be held from 9 am to 4 pm at the Extension and Outreach office in Fort Dodge. Sessions will focus on growing medium, insect and disease management, watering and fertilization, lighting, and hardening off transplants. The class will conclude with a visit to Mike Buske’s farm to see the greenhouse where he grows transplants for his farm.
Iowa State University Extension & Outreach Master Gardener Program will host a webinar series on three consecutive Wednesdays. February 10th will be Best Pratices for Food Safety. The webinars are free of charge and open to the public. Attend these meeting to learn more on the realities of hunger in Iowa, the best way to work with food banks, food safety and much more.
Master Gardeners are individuals who have an interest in horticulture, have taken the Master Gardener training offered by Iowa State University Extension, and share their time and expertise with other gardeners.
