The 4-H Family Monthly newsletter was reviewed by Club Vice-President Ethan S. Linda L gave the leader’s report-discussed the upcoming County Interviews. Luke L presented a community service opportunity, the Back to School Bash. We discussed helping with the event in either time volunteered and/or monetary donation. Linda gave us a quick overview of our clubs budget and so we decided to table the donation dollar amount until we know more about how much money the club will need for upcoming expenses (ex. Fair Booth and 4-H’ers for 4-H possible contribution). The meeting was adjourned with a motion by Anna L and seconded by Ethan S. Host families were the Campbell’s and Chalstrom’s.
After the meeting, several presentations were given: Ethan S.- Mark Twain (free audio books: http://librivox.org/ ), Abi H.- sugar and gluten free lemon crumble muffins, Chloe U.- saber toothed cats, Luke L. and Jacob U.- Civil Air Patrol, Eriana H.-sewing, Austin H.- military uniforms, Jacob L.-napalm, Alexis H.- home canning, Anna H-making Chex “Muddy Buddies”, Hannah C.-coppper bracelet health benefits, Anna L.- leopards, Abigail C.- no bake cookies, Joseph L.-School of Choice Week, and Ruth C. talked about” Rachel’s Challenge” (http://www.rachelschallenge.org/) . The 4-H’ers did a wonderful job! Reminder that presentations have three parts: 1. Introduction 2. Body (usually 3 points) 3. Conclusion (restate what you taught in a sentence). It has been studied that the human brain has to hear something at least seven times to retain it, so a conclusion is very important.
Respectfully submitted, Luke L.
