Webster County Extension & Outreach is offering a series of three free workshops for area residents to learn more about energy efficiency. The workshop entitled "Energy Efficient Lighting” is scheduled for Saturday, February 13th from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Webster County Extension office located at 217 S. 25th Street, Suite C12 in Fort Dodge (entrance on the south side of the Crossroads Mall).

Expansion of the cow-calf sector of the beef industry coupled with the recent collapse of the feeder and fed cattle markets have placed an unprecedented financial strain on many beef producers in the U.S.  Now more than ever, profitability of high-priced replacement females will come only as a result of many years of productivity in the herd.  However, identifying and breeding for females that will maintain themselves in the herd for upwards of 6 or 7 years can be challenging.
