Iowa Learning Farms, in partnership with Practical Farmers of Iowa, will host a cover crop grazing field day Tuesday, November 15th. The 12:30-2:30 p.m. field day at Kellie and AJ Blair’s farm, rural Dayton.  The field day is free and open to the public and includes a complimentary lunch.  The field day will be held at the Blair Farm, 3531 Paragon Ave. Dayton. From Dayton, IA-175 west for 2 miles. Turn right to head north on Paragon Ave (P61). The farm is the first place on the west side of the road. Lunch will be served inside the shop and weather permitting, the program will take place in the nearby cover crop field.  The workshop is free and open to the public, but reservations are suggested to ensure adequate space and food. The annual Pro-Ag Outlook meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 17, starting at 4 p.m. at the Webster Co. Extension & Outreach office which is located at the southeast corner of the Crossroads Mall between Younkers and Sears in Fort Dodge.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, in cooperation with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS), provides training and certification programs for commercial and private pesticide applicators in Iowa.  A private applicator is a person who applies any restricted-use pesticide for the production of an agricultural commodity on property owned or rented by the applicator or the applicator’s employer, or on the property of other agricultural producers with whom the applicator trades services.
