
Meeting Minutes - 06/30/08
The regular meeting of the Washington Winners 4-H club was held on Monday, June 30, 2008, from 7:00 pm. to 8:30 pm. at the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe. The meeting was called to order by President Miranda Clabaugh. Kara Phillips led the Pledge of Allegiance. Jessica Phillips led roll call at the meeting. It was “Name something you plan to exhibit at the fair” and was answered by 16 members. Two leaders and 3 guests were also present at the meeting. Lauren Mitchell gave the treasurer’s report. For old business, the club discussed participating in the Lehigh River Day’s parade on June 21 and the kid games the club members organized. In new business, the club was given a check from New Coop in the amount of $270 to offset dues or promote special projects in 4-H. Members are selling advanced tickets for the concert being held during the Webster County Fair. The group went over fair guidelines and answered questions regarding the fair. Exhibits need to be judged on Tuesday, July 8. Club members signed up to work in the foodstand at the Hillbilly Sale on July 19. A booth committee was assembled at the meeting. Members preparing the booth for fair include: Lauren Mitchell, Jessica Phillips, Sarah Montgomery, Kara Phillips, Madison Anderson, Joseph Lennon, Matthew Mitchell and Nolan Mitchell. Jessica Phillips gave a presentation on the CWF trip she attended earlier in the month. After recreation, club members enjoyed snacks provided by Miranda Clabaugh, Patrick Hogan and Samantha Dischler. The next meeting will be held Monday, August 4, 2008.
Meeting Minutes - 06/02/08
The regular meeting of the Washington Winners 4-H club was held on Monday, June 2, 2008 from 7:00 pm. to 8:30 pm. at the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe. The meeting was called to order by Maria Mickelson. Mason Phillips led the Pledge of Allegiance. Katie Ruge acted as secretary at the meeting. Roll call was “Name a crayola color”. There were 17 members, 2 leaders, and 3 guests present at the meeting. Lauren Mitchell gave the treasurer’s report. Heather Anderson delivered the candles from the fundraiser. Members are selling advanced tickets for the concert being held during the Webster County Fair. For new business the topics included Lehigh River Days’ activities, Junior Camp, and State Conference. The club will participate in the Lehigh River Days Parade on Saturday, June 21 at 10:00 am and then provide games for the children after the parade. Nolan Mitchell led the 4-H Pledge at the meeting. Seven presentations were given at the meeting. Baylee Scharf gave a presentation on “Shimmering Fruit Salad”, Madison Anderson made “Iced Tea”, Samantha Dischler prepared “Mini Pizzas”, Abby Redmond made “Chex Mix”, Mason Phillips discussed “Calf Lung Disease”, Amanda Propst taught members how to make “Flubber”, and Libby Redmond demonstrated her “Sherbet Fizz”. Abby and Libby Redmond served as hosts for the meeting. Nolan Mitchell and Devin Summers prepared recreation. The next meeting will be held Monday, June 30, 2008.
Meeting Minutes -05/04/08
The regular meeting of the Washington Winners 4-H club was held on Sunday, May 4, 2008 from 7:00 pm. to 8:30 pm. at the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe. The meeting was called to order by Miranda Clabaugh. Sarah Montgomery led the Pledge of Allegiance. Miles Probst acted as secretary at the meeting. Roll call was “Name a former United States’ President”. There were 15 members, 3 leaders, and 3 guests present at the meeting. Lauren Mitchell gave the treasurer’s report and Miranda Clabaugh read a letter of thanks from the Youth Shelter for the club’s donation. For new business the topics included Lehigh River Days’ activities, Junior Camp, State Conference, and selection of queen and king candidates. Fairbooks and entry sheets were passed out at the meeting. Heather Anderson distributed materials for the club candle sale which will run through May 18. Anyone interested in supporting the effort should contact a club member. Baylee Scharf led the 4-H Pledge at the meeting. The only presentation was given by Patrick Hogan on “Oreo Pie”. Patrick Hogan also served as host for the meeting. Madison Anderson, Baylee Scharf, and Miranda Clabaugh all prepared recreation. The next meeting will be held Monday, June 2, 2008.
Meeting Minutes - 04/07/08
The Washington Winners 4-H Club held their monthly meeting on Monday, April 7, 2008, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe. The members enjoyed a pizza party provided by Linda Cline for having the highest percentage of members attend the 4-H Fun Day at Fuller Hall. The meeting was called to order by President Miranda Clabaugh. Madison Anderson led the Pledge of Allegiance. Miles Propst acted as secretary and read the minutes. Eighteen club members answered roll call for their favorite cartoon character. Four guests were in attendance. Lauren Mitchell gave the treasurer’s report. Baylee Scharf led the 4-H Pledge. Nolan Mitchell attended the Omaha Zoo Trip On March 28-29. Four members participated in Food Safety Quality Assurance Training. They were Joseph Lennon, Lauren, Matthew and Nolan Mitchell. In new business, members brought their final items for the Youth Shelter. Members made additional plans for their summer service project for Lehigh River Days. Materials were distributed at the meeting. Heather Anderson explained a fundraising opportunity to the club. Maria Mickelson gave a presentation on “Oil Painting” and Katie Ruge and Marisa Wilson gave a team presentation on “Puppy Chow”. Leaders Dawn Mickelson and Sharon Mitchell led recreation at the meeting. Austin Stewart served as the host. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 5, 2008.

The Washington Winners 4-H Club held their monthly meeting on Monday, March 3, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe. The meeting was called to order by President Miranda Clabaugh. Jessica Phillips led the Pledge of Allegiance and read the minutes. Nineteen members answered roll call for their favorite TV show. Lauren Mitchell gave the treasurer’s report. Nolan Mitchell led the 4-H Pledge. Nine members participated in the 4th – 8th grade Fuller Hall Fun Day held February 24th in Webster City. Members that enjoyed the day were Samantha Dischler, Nolan Mitchell, Sarah Montgomery, Amanda Propst, Miles Propst, Austin Stewart, and Devin Summers. Senior Members Lauren Mitchell and Josh Peart helped at the event. In new business, members were encouraged to bring items for the Youth Shelter. Members also discussed their summer service project for Lehigh River Days. Project slips were distributed at the meeting. FSQA Training will be held March 24th. Members posed for a club photograph. Presentation given at the meeting included Jayna Mickelson “Cherry Cheese Cupcakes”, Kara Phillips “Land Hermit Crabs”, Joseph Lennon “Things to Know About the Poultry Project” and Miranda Clabaugh “Global Warming”. Katie Ruge and Marisa Wilson led recreation at the meeting. Joseph Lennon served as the host at the meeting. The next meeting is scheduled for April 7, 2008.
Meeting Minutes - 02/18/08
The Washington Winners 4-H Club met on Monday, February 18, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe. The meeting was called to order by Matthew Mitchell. Patrick Hogan led the Pledge of Allegiance. Mason Phillips read the minutes and called roll call asking members to name a type of flower. It was answered by 15 members. Lauren Mitchell gave the treasurer’s report. Nine members attended County Interviews held in January at the Webster County Extension Office. They were Miranda Clabaugh, Patrick Hogan, Joseph Lennon, Lauren Mitchell, Matthew Mitchell, Nolan Mitchell, Josh Peart, Jessica Phillips, and Kara Phillips. In new business, members were encouraged to attend the 4th – 8th grade Fuller Hall Fun Day scheduled for Sunday, February 24th. Members also discussed their summer service project. The club made Saint Patrick’s Day cards to present to the Friend’s Forever group. Matthew Mitchell gave a presentation titled “Apple Dip” and Miles Propst gave his on “Hunter Safety”. Jayna Mickelson led recreation at the meeting. Matthew Mitchell served as the host at the meeting. The next meeting is scheduled for March 3, 2008.
Meeing Minutes - 01/07/08
The Washington Winners 4-H Club met on Monday, January 7, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe. Joseph Lennon called the meeting to order. Garrett Bottorff led the Pledge of Allegiance. Kara Phillips called roll call for “What’s your favorite kind of cookie?” It was answered by 16 members and 1 guest. Lauren Mitchell gave the treasurer’s report. Several members told about the Christmas Bowling Party held in December. Lauren and Nolan Mitchell reported on the gifts purchased for two children from the Giving Tree. Jessica Phillips attended Spa Day. Club materials were distributed. County Interviews will be held Jan. 27 and 28 at the Webster County Extension Office. Members discussed a winter fun day and also talked about doing a service project during Lehigh River Days in June. Austin Stewart led the 4-H Pledge. Lauren Mitchell gave a presentation on “Peanut Butter Bars”. Joseph Lennon and Matthew Mitchell led recreation. Jayna and Maria Mickelson were hosts of the meeting. The next meeting will be February 4, 2008.
Meeting Minutes - 12/03/07
The Washington Winners 4-H Club met December 3rd at the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe. Roll call was “Name a Christmas Carol” and it was answered by seventeen members. Jessica Phillips led the Pledge of Allegiance. The club acknowledged members that won special awards at the 4-H Banquet. They included Miranda Clabaugh, Lauren Mitchell, and Matthew Mitchell. Club members involved in a special presentation to honor retiring leader Cheryl Christopherson for volunteering for 35 years as club leader included: Miranda Clabaugh, Samantha Dischler, Joseph Lennon, Jayna Mickelson, Maria Mickelson, Lauren Mitchell, Matthew Mitchell, Nolan Mitchell, Josh Peart, Jessica Phillips, Kara Phillips, Mason Phillips, Cassie Van Every and former members Meredith Mickelson and Nick Shelle. The club voted to buy gifts for two children on the Giving Tree. Committee members are Miranda Clabaugh, Lauren Mitchell, Jessica Phillips, Kara Phillips and Kaitlin Redmond. They also planned a club Christmas party and wrote thank you notes. Nolan Mitchell gave a presentation called “Ornament Christmas Cards” and the group created cards to send to 4-H Foundation Donors. Lauren Mitchell and Rhiannon Stewart involved the club in a recreational activity. The 4-H pledge was led by Baylee Scharf. Hosts for the meeting were Devin Summers, Lauren, Matthew and Nolan Mitchell. The next meeting will be held January 7, 2007.
Meeting Minutes 11/10/07
The Washington Winners 4-H Club met November 10th at the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe for a potluck supper. There were about 60 members, leaders, and friends in attendance. County Council members Sara Rockow, Josh Peart, and Teresa McLaughlin installed the following officers – Miranda Clabaugh – President, Joe Lennon – Vice- President, Jessica Phillips – Secretary, Lauren Mitchell – Treasurer, Nolan Mitchell – Reporter, Amanda Propst – Photographer, and Samantha Dischler, Pat Hogan, and Miles Propst – Historians. New members – Austin Stewart, Deven Summers, Madison Anderson, Baylee Scharf, Marisa Wilson, and Katie Ruge were also installed. Amanda Propst and Kara Phillips gave the Historian’s Report. County Council Members Lauren Mitchell and Josh Peart reported on some of their activities. Retiring leaders Gerald Ascherl, Karen Amman, and Cheryl Christopherson distributed record books, perfect attendance, membership certificates, and club awards. The club recognized the three leaders for their dedicated service to the 4-H program. New leaders of the club are Sharon Mitchell, Dawn Mickelson, and JoAnn Lennon. Reporter: Nolan Mitchell.

The Washington Winners 4-H Club met October 1st, 2007 at the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe. The meeting was called to order by President, Miranda Clabaugh. Zach Andrews led the group with the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call and the Secretary’s report were read by Jessica Phillips. Roll call was answered by 15 members, 3 leaders and 5 guests. Josh Peart distributed premium checks. The group talked about 4-H Week this week and wearing 4-H t-shirts to school. Bookmarks were given to the Library. They also made placemats for the 4-H Banquet and filled out enrollment forms. Recreation was led by Joey Lennon, the group played a meet and greet game. Jayna Mickelson led the 4-H Pledge. The Washington Winners 4-H Club met September 4, 2007 at the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe. The meeting was called to order by President, Lauren Mitchell. Retiring leader, Gerald Ascherl led the Pledge of Allegiance. State Fair results were discussed. Joe Lennon and Nolan Mitchell received blues on their exhibits. Lauren Mitchell, Jessica Phillips, Joe Lennon, Josh Peart, Nolan Mitchell, Kara Phillips, Libby Redmond, and Abby Redmond all had great results in various forms of Communications. The group handed in their record books and worked on the schedule for working at the Hillbilly Sale on September 15th. They also made bookmarks for the Duncombe Library for 4-H Week. The following new officers were elected – President – Miranda Clabaugh, Vice-President – Joe Lennon, Secretary – Jessica Phillips, Treasurer – Lauren Mitchell, Photographer – Amanda Propst, Reporter – Nolan Mitchell, and Historians – Miles Propst, Samantha Dischler, Zach Andrews, and Pat Hogan. New leaders of the club are Sharon Mitchell, Dawn Mickelson, and JoAnn Lennon. Retiring leaders Karen Amman and Cheryl Christopherson led the 4-H Pledge. Hosts were Samantha Dischler and Pat Hogan.
