Meeting Minutes - 05/04/08
The Lost Grove Leaders 4-H Club held their regular monthly meeting on May 4, 2008 at the Harcourt United Methodist Church. The meeting was called to order by Katie Anderson. Roll Call was called by Emma Kiefer with 5 members and 3 leaders answering roll call. The Treasurer’s report was read by Marydith Barkley. Kallen Anderson reviewed the income and spending for the planters we set-up in Harcourt. We took time at the beginning of the meeting to finish the last planting in the five planters. Old business discussed : the club picture, state conference, highway clean-up to be done. For new business fair entry forms were reviewed and questions were answered. “Harcourt Planters” was presented by Kallen Anderson. The treats for the meeting were brownie sundaes. Meeting Minutes - 11/04/07
The Lost Grove Leaders November 4 meeting was called to order by President Kallen Anderson. Pledges were lead by Maddi Hansen. Secretary Paige Anderson called roll. The members were commended for their participation at the Hillbilly sale yesterday. We were also encouraged to finish turn in our record books. Financial issues were discussed and it was decided that the club would pay part of each 4-Hers membership fee for this next year. New business: Kallen Anderson reported on the “Be Your Best” spa day which is sponsored by the Webster County Extension Office and will be held December 27. Enrollment forms and the Pick-a-Project papers were discussed and passed out to each member. The Officer training worksheets were also passed out to the new officers. It was announced that our installation of officers will include a potluck with the Lost Grove Go-Getters and will be next Sunday, November 11. We made plans for our December meetings which include making gift jars at our December 2 meeting and shopping for three kids chosen off the Angel Tree on December 8 with our Christmas party to follow. Maddi Hansen explained Operation Christmas Child to the group and set up the area where we put the boxes together. We also decorated placemats for the county awards banquet with sponge painting or coloring. Installation of Officers: On November 10, the Lost Grove Go-Getters and Lost Grove Leaders held a family potluck at the Harcourt Community Center. The potluck started at 5:00 and the installation of officers followed. County Council members, Alyssa Lundgren, Kelsey Dodson and Sadie Fisher performed the installation and shared information about various 4-H activities available to all 4-H members. Meeting Minutes - 10/07/07
President Kallen Anderson called the October 7th meeting the Lost Grove Leaders 4-H club to order at 5:00. Four new members were introduced. The pledges were lead by Paige Anderson. Paige also called roll and gave the Secretary’s report. Josie Lambert gave the Treasurer’s report. The business meeting was then interrupted as the 4-Hers took time to put the first coat of paint on the pumpkins that they decorated for the Grandview Care Center. After that was done, were returned to unfinished business. Several 4-H members shared with the new members what 4-H was about for them. The Highway clean up was cancelled due to rain and it has been rescheduled for October 20. We were also reminded to wear 4-H shirts during National 4-H Week which is October 7-13. Record books are due to Charlene October 15th. We discussed the cost of enrollment as one item of new business and acknowledged the generous donation by NEW Cooperative to help fund membership costs. Pick-a-Project papers were distributed and reviewed. Members are encouraged to look them over to help decide on projects for this next year. All 4-Hers were reminded to write thank you notes for honors/awards received this past year. Our club is working at the November 3rd Hillbilly Sale and members signed up to work. Our next meeting is November 4, with the potluck and installation of officers on November 11 with the Lost Grove Go-Getters. The meeting was adjourned and the leaders, Charlene Anderson and Renee Anderson were the hostesses while the 4-Hers finished decorating the pumpkins. Acting Reporter, Kallen Anderson
Meeting Minutes - 08/26/07
The Lost Grove Leaders meeting was called to order by President Kallen Anderson on August 26, 2007. Secretary Paige Anderson called roll which we answered with our favorite fair activity or event. Unfinished business included postponing the river clean-up due to the recent rains. We rescheduled the event for September 16th. A hearty thank you from the Harcourt Appreciation Days committee was extended to the 4-Hers that helped at this year’s celebration. 4-Hers that are interested in County Awards should have their record books into Charlene Anderson by September 16th. For new business, we discussed activities for National 4-H week which is the first week of October. Kallen Anderson, Maddi and Morgan Hansen agreed to visit with the 4th graders at Boxholm. Maddi Hansen will arrange to have an announcement about 4-H read at Burnside school during that week and Emma Kiefer will organize the announcements for Boxholm. We agreed to continue to meet the first Sunday evening of the month at 5:00 pm at the Harcourt United Methodist Church. We also made plans for the meetings and activities for the 2007-2008 4-H year.
