Meeting Minutes - 05/04/08
On Sunday, May 4, 2008, the Country Charmers 4-H Club met at the Callender Community Centre at 5:00. The club discussed working at the Coleman Larson auction on June 14th. The club also decided to plant flowers in the planters in Callender and around the flagpole at the library on May 15th. The hostesses, Olivia Hanson and Katelyn Johnson, did a presentation on planting flowers. Each girl planted a flower to give to their mothers for Mother's Day. Rebecca Nellis, Reporter
Meeting Minutes - 04/06/08
On April 6, 2008, the Country Charmers met at the Callender Community Center. Leader Rachel Peterson challenged the members to do a good deed in Coleman Larson’s name. The club also discussed the opportunity of participating in the Arthritis Walk in Fort Dodge on April 26th. Zoe Schneider and Rebecca Nellis also told about their overnight trip to the Omaha Zoo with 4-hers from Webster, Wright, Humboldt, Hamilton, and Hardin counties. Presentations were given by Stephanie and Tiffany Blunk on making coffee filter butterlies and by Clara and Siece Pearson on making coffee filter flowers. Meeting Minutes - 03/02/08
On March 2, 2008 the Country Charmers met at the Callender Community Center. Te hostesses were Cassidy Brinkman, Paige Schneider, and Zoe Schneider. Cassidy gave a presentation on her cow. Paige Schneider Also did a presentation on stop light cookies, and Zoe Schneider did a presentation on tie die cup cakes. Rachel did a presentation on hodge podge eggs.
Meeting Minutes - 12/02/07
The Country Charmers 4-H Club met December 2 at 4:00 at the Gowrie Care Center. The group enjoyed caroling for the residents of the Care Center and the Senior Suites. The group then had a short meeting at the Callender Community Centre. Each of the members donated a gift for the Youth Shelter. Then the club had a grab bag gift exchange. Plans are currently being made to attend the Iowa State girls’ basketball game on December 30th. Rebecca Nellis, reporter
Meeting Minutes - 11/11/07
Seventeen members of the Country Charmers 4-H Club met at the Callender Lutheran Church on Sunday, November 11, 2007. At the meeting, membership materials were turned in. The club decided to go Christmas Caroling during the next meeting, December 2nd. The group also decided to purchase a gift for a child whose name is on a gift tree in Fort Dodge. The Country Charmers received a thank-you note from the family of Coleman Larson and from the Johnson family for a sympathy gift. Leader, Rachel Peterson, gave a presentation on making angel Christmas ornaments. After the meeting was adjourned, the club prepared the dining room for the potluck supper shared with the boys’ club, the Callender Chargers.
After having supper with our families, a review of the past year’s activities were given by Rachel Peterson for the girls’ club and Trevor Larson for the boys’ club. County Council members, Kristin Delaney and Alexa Rittgers, installed the new officers for both clubs and officially welcomed the new members. Last, the record books and premium checks were distributed to the members. The Country Charmers will meet again on December 2, 2007, at the Callender Community Centre. Rebecca Nellis, Reporter
Meeting Minutes - 10/07/07
At 4:00 Sunday, October 7th, 2007, the Country Charmers met at the Callender Community Centre. The 12 members of the club welcomed 4 new members and elected officers. Tara Goodale was elected President; Hillary Hanson, Vice President; Brittney Blunk, Secretary; Cheyenne Jones, Treasurer; Rebecca Nellis, Reporter; and Stephanie Blunk, Photographer. During the business meeting, the Country Charmers voted to make a donation to the Callender Community Centre in appreciation for the use of the meeting room. The club also voted to donate money to the Coleman Larson family for expenses. Enrollment forms for this year’s membership were handed out. They are due in November. Brittney and Stephanie Blunk gave a presentation on making Halloween bat decorations, and Libbie Lowrey gave a presentation on making snowman treats. The Country Charmers will meet again November 11 for an awards night and a family potluck.
