Job Postings:

 Webster County Office is accepting applications for a temporary, part-time Summer Aide to assist 20 hours per week with various office activities from May 31 – July 29.  Qualification include a minimum of a high school diploma, knowledge of 4-H, strong communication and organizational skills, up-to-date computer and technology skills, and ability to work some evenings and weekends.  Submit application with references to the Webster County Extension & Outreach office by Monday, February 15, 2016.  In accordance with ISU Extension’s Child Protection and Safety Policy, a background check will be completed on the selected applicant.  Webster County Extension & Outreach is an EEO/AA Employer.

January 19, 2016

Growing quality transplants is the topic of a day-long Iowa State University Extension and Outreach workshop Thursday, Feb. 18 at the Webster County Extension Office 217 South 25th St., Suite C12, Fort Dodge, IA 50501-4676.  The workshop will be held from 9 am to 4 pm at the Extension and Outreach office in Fort Dodge.  Sessions will focus on growing medium, insect and disease management, watering and fertilization, lighting, and hardening off transplants.  The class will conclude with a visit to Mike Buske’s farm to see the greenhouse where he grows transplants for his farm.

Iowa State University Extension & Outreach Master Gardener Program will host a webinar series on three consecutive Wednesdays.  February 10th will be Best Pratices for Food Safety.  The webinars are free of charge and open to the public.  Attend these meeting to learn more on the realities of hunger in Iowa, the best way to work with food banks, food safety and much more.

Webster County Extension & Outreach is offering a series of three free workshops for area residents to learn more about energy efficiency. The workshop entitled "Energy Efficient Lighting” is scheduled for Saturday, February 13th from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Webster County Extension office located at 217 S. 25th Street, Suite C12 in Fort Dodge (entrance on the south side of the Crossroads Mall).

You and your parents are invited to attend the Strengthening Families Program.  It's fun & free!  Evening meals are provided and free child care is provided for younger siblings.  Students receive $3 each week they attend.  This program has been successful over the past 10 years with more than 900 families participating from the Fort Dodge area.
