Annie's Project is coming in June!

Women managing their own farming operations now have the chance to connect with other women through a course designed to empower them to take control of their operations through Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach.The class, consisting of six 3-hour sessions, will teach women about financial management, marketing, human resources, dealing with the public and computer technology.For more information about the Annie’s Project click here, or contact the Webster County Extension office at 515-576-2119.

Farmland value reaches historic $8,296 statewide average

Average Iowa farmland value is estimated to be $8,296 per acre, an increase of 23.7 percent from 2011, according to results of the Iowa Land Value Survey conducted in November. This is the third year in a row where values have increased more than 15 percent. The 2012 values are historical peaks.

 ISEK Summer Camps

Now that the weather is no longer frightful, don’t ISEK Summer Camps sound delightful? 

Register now for Iowa State Engineering Kids (ISEK) Camp, hosted by the ISU College of Engineering K-12 Community Outreach Program!  Choose from a variety of ISU day camps that include hands-on engineering and science activities, visits to ISU research labs, and teamwork activities that help participants learn how to become the engineers of the future.

JUNIOR CAMP

Webster, Hamilton, Franklin, Humboldt, Hardin and Wright counties are providing jr. camp for 4-H’ers in 4th,5thand 6thgrades.  Cost is $65 for Webster County 4-H’ers thanks to the Webster County 4-H Foundation.

Meet new friends, go on a creekwalk, night hike, and experience camping in its finest!  Even though registrations are due May 20, camp numbers are limited per county, so please send in your registration to the Webster County Extension Office as soon as you are interested.  Click here for a registration form.

 


 

Iowa State Fair Vet Camp and Advanced Vet Camp

Children ages 10-18 have the opportunity to attend the Iowa State Fair Vet Camps for FREE. All camps are held during the 2013 Iowa State Fair, August 8-18 and will consist of three stations each designed to encourage hands-on learning about veterinary medicine.
